On Sunday I wanted to make some paper hearts with Ethan. We haven’t really done any kind of crafts where there is a finished goal in mind….so today was the day. I had the idea, inspired by this pin, to cut out some colorful paper hearts and string them up for Valentine’s Day. With the idea that we would hang them over our breakfast table. Simple dimple. I had visions of myself folding the paper and drawing the template…and Ethan cutting them out. I knew his almost 4 year old self would’t cut the best hearts, but that didn’t matter…we was going to relish in the imperfectness. A few years ago I participated in a year long project call One Little Word. It was started and inspired by Ali Edwards, she even has a year long workshop. The idea is to choose a word for the year, a word that you can focus on, meditate on, and reflect upon as you go about the days and months of the year. February is here…which means Valentine’s Day is right around in the corner. This year I am forgoing the store bought valentines for Ethan’s class….yep, I going all DIY Pinteresty this year!
